Virtual Doctor Visit | Windsor

For the days when the drive is the hardest part.

Virtual primary care for Windsor, from a family medicine practice

Windsor patients already make up a big share of our practice, which is why a virtual doctor visit with NOCO Healthcare is such a natural fit. We are a family medicine clinic about 15 minutes east on US-34. For your physical, we want you in the office. For a cold that turned into a sinus infection, a rash, a refill, or a follow-up question, a secure video visit with our nurse practitioner gets it done without the drive.

Same-day and next-day video visits are available Monday through Friday. Call, and we text you the link.

Conditions we treat by video

A good rule of thumb: if you would describe the problem to a nurse over the phone and expect useful advice, it is probably a good fit for a virtual visit. For Windsor patients that usually means respiratory infections, sinus pressure and congestion, sore throats, earaches, pink eye, urinary symptoms, migraines, rashes and skin irritation, allergies, and stomach bugs. It also covers the unglamorous but important stuff: refills on a blood pressure or thyroid medication, a follow-up on lab results, or a check-in on a condition we are already managing together.

Because we are a family medicine practice rather than a telehealth app, the visit connects to the rest of your care. If the video visit turns into a lab order, an X-ray order, or an in-person appointment, that happens inside the same chart with the same provider. Nothing gets lost between a stranger on an app and your actual primary care.

What does not belong on a video call: chest pain, shortness of breath, injuries that might involve a fracture, wounds that may need stitches, severe pain of any kind, or anything that feels like an emergency. For those, call us or go to the nearest emergency department. We will always tell you when a screen is the wrong tool.

Booking a video visit from Windsor

Call (970) 888-0399. That is the whole process. A person answers, asks a few questions, and finds you a time, often the same day. Shortly before your appointment we send a text with a secure link. You do not need to create an account or install anything; the visit opens in your phone’s browser. It is a HIPAA-compliant platform, so the conversation stays between you and your provider.

During the visit, our nurse practitioner works through the same questions she would ask in the office. She may ask you to show her a rash, shine your phone’s flashlight at the back of your throat, or press on your abdomen and describe what you feel. Prescriptions go to your preferred pharmacy electronically. Orders for labs or imaging go into your chart. If you need to come in, we schedule it right then, and the drive from Windsor is about 15 minutes.

It's Just a Rash. Is It Worth an Afternoon?

A rash that will not quit or a cold that turned into sinus pressure is not an emergency, but it is not nothing either. Losing an afternoon to a round trip for something small is hard to justify.

Show it to us on video. Our nurse practitioner can look at the rash, ask about your symptoms, and send treatment to your pharmacy. You keep your afternoon, and the 15-minute drive is saved for your next physical.

A note from Sheree

I know how much it takes for a parent or a working person to get to an appointment. If I can save you that drive on the days it is not medically necessary, I will. And on the days it is necessary, I will say so plainly. That is the deal I make with every patient.

Skip the drive from Windsor

A virtual visit means no trip down CO-257 for a sinus infection, a medication refill, or a lab result. It also helps on Front Range ozone action days and smoky days, when people with asthma or heart disease are better off staying inside. Prescriptions go straight to a Windsor pharmacy on Main Street, and if you need an exam in person, our Greeley clinic is about 15 minutes away.

Video first, office when it matters

We use video visits for the things video is good at and the office for everything else. Physicals, vaccines, injuries, lab draws, minor procedures, and any visit where a provider needs to put hands on the problem are done in person at our Greeley clinic, about 15 minutes from Windsor. If you are not sure which kind of visit you need, call and ask. We will tell you, and we will not book a video visit just to bill for it and then bring you in anyway.

Everything lives in one chart. The nurse practitioner on your screen today is the same one who handles your family medicine care in the office, and she will already know your history when you walk in.

Insurance and cost

We accept most major insurance plans, Medicare, and Medicaid, and virtual visits are billed the same way an office visit is. Many plans now cover telehealth at the same rate as in-person care; if yours is different, we will tell you what to expect before the visit rather than after. If you do not have insurance, ask about self-pay pricing when you call. We would rather quote you a number than have you skip care over a question mark.

Windsor’s nearby family medicine practice, now on your phone

We see a lot of Windsor. Video visits are how our Windsor patients handle the small stuff between physicals without adding a round trip on US-34. The in-person side of the practice is described on our Windsor primary care and Windsor family practice pages, and women’s health has its own page for Windsor.

I Feel Awkward Showing Things on Camera

Turning your phone toward a sore spot or talking about personal symptoms on a screen can feel strange. Some people would almost rather suffer than feel self-conscious.

We keep the visit calm and matter-of-fact, and we only ask to see what helps us treat you. Good light and a private room are all you need. Video visits are HIPAA-protected, and if seeing a woman matters to you, tell the front desk when you call.

Virtual visit questions from Windsor patients

How do I book a virtual doctor visit from Windsor?

Call NOCO Healthcare at (970) 888-0399 during office hours, Monday through Friday. Tell us you would like a video visit and we will find you a time, often the same day. We text you a secure link shortly before the appointment.

How far is NOCO Healthcare from Windsor if I need to come in?

Our clinic is at 1130 38th Avenue, Suite A, in Greeley, about 15 minutes from Windsor. If a video visit turns into an in-person visit, we book it before the call ends and hold same-day and next-day appointments for that reason.

What hours are virtual visits available?

Video visits are scheduled during our regular hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. We are not a 24-hour service. If you have an emergency after hours, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

Is a virtual visit a good way to establish primary care from Windsor?

It is a good first step. Many new patients from Windsor meet us on video for an immediate problem, then come in for a physical once they have decided we are a fit. Our primary care and family medicine pages for Windsor explain the in-person side.

Can I get a refill through a virtual visit?

Usually, yes. If we already manage the medication, a video visit is an easy way to review how it is working and send a refill. Some controlled medications have rules that require an in-person visit, and we will tell you if that applies.

Can my child have a virtual visit?

Yes. Pediatric video visits are common and useful for fevers, rashes, coughs, and pink eye. A parent holds the phone, shows us what is going on, and we decide together whether the child needs to be seen in person.

What conditions can be treated by video?

Colds and flu, sinus infections, sore throats, ear pain, pink eye, urinary tract infections, migraines, rashes, allergies, stomach bugs, medication refills, and follow-ups on conditions we already manage. Anything involving chest pain, breathing trouble, possible fractures, or wounds needs to be seen in person.

Can a nurse practitioner prescribe medication during a virtual visit?

Yes. Our nurse practitioner is licensed to diagnose and prescribe in Colorado. When a prescription is appropriate, it is sent electronically to the pharmacy you choose before the visit ends.

What should I have ready for the video visit?

A charged phone, a quiet spot with decent light, your pharmacy's name, a list of your current medications, and a thermometer reading if you have a fever. If the problem is a rash or a swollen area, be somewhere you can show it on camera.

Is my information private on a video visit?

Yes. We use a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform, the visit is documented in your chart the same way an office visit is, and nothing is recorded or shared outside your care team.
