Conditions we treat by video

A good rule of thumb: if you would describe the problem to a nurse over the phone and expect useful advice, it is probably a good fit for a virtual visit. For Windsor patients that usually means respiratory infections, sinus pressure and congestion, sore throats, earaches, pink eye, urinary symptoms, migraines, rashes and skin irritation, allergies, and stomach bugs. It also covers the unglamorous but important stuff: refills on a blood pressure or thyroid medication, a follow-up on lab results, or a check-in on a condition we are already managing together.

Because we are a family medicine practice rather than a telehealth app, the visit connects to the rest of your care. If the video visit turns into a lab order, an X-ray order, or an in-person appointment, that happens inside the same chart with the same provider. Nothing gets lost between a stranger on an app and your actual primary care.

What does not belong on a video call: chest pain, shortness of breath, injuries that might involve a fracture, wounds that may need stitches, severe pain of any kind, or anything that feels like an emergency. For those, call us or go to the nearest emergency department. We will always tell you when a screen is the wrong tool.

Booking a video visit from Windsor

Call (970) 888-0399. That is the whole process. A person answers, asks a few questions, and finds you a time, often the same day. Shortly before your appointment we send a text with a secure link. You do not need to create an account or install anything; the visit opens in your phone’s browser. It is a HIPAA-compliant platform, so the conversation stays between you and your provider.

During the visit, our nurse practitioner works through the same questions she would ask in the office. She may ask you to show her a rash, shine your phone’s flashlight at the back of your throat, or press on your abdomen and describe what you feel. Prescriptions go to your preferred pharmacy electronically. Orders for labs or imaging go into your chart. If you need to come in, we schedule it right then, and the drive from Windsor is about 15 minutes.

Video first, office when it matters

We use video visits for the things video is good at and the office for everything else. Physicals, vaccines, injuries, lab draws, minor procedures, and any visit where a provider needs to put hands on the problem are done in person at our Greeley clinic, about 15 minutes from Windsor. If you are not sure which kind of visit you need, call and ask. We will tell you, and we will not book a video visit just to bill for it and then bring you in anyway.

Everything lives in one chart. The nurse practitioner on your screen today is the same one who handles your family medicine care in the office, and she will already know your history when you walk in.

Insurance and cost

We accept most major insurance plans, Medicare, and Medicaid, and virtual visits are billed the same way an office visit is. Many plans now cover telehealth at the same rate as in-person care; if yours is different, we will tell you what to expect before the visit rather than after. If you do not have insurance, ask about self-pay pricing when you call. We would rather quote you a number than have you skip care over a question mark.
