Staying healthy in Windsor: what we watch for
Living in Windsor brings a few health risks that are specific to Weld County, and a good primary care provider plans for them. Mosquitoes around Windsor Lake and the Poudre River carry West Nile virus most summers; Weld County investigated 52 cases in 2023. All of Weld County sits inside the Front Range ozone nonattainment area, so summer ozone action days hit people with asthma, COPD, and heart disease hardest. And about half of the Weld County homes tested through the county health department have had elevated radon, the leading cause of lung cancer in people who have never smoked.
