What a virtual visit can handle
Most of what brings people into a family medicine clinic does not require a hands-on exam. It requires a provider who listens, asks the right questions, and knows what to prescribe. By secure video, our nurse practitioner treats Kersey patients for cold and flu symptoms, sinus infections, strep-type sore throats, ear pain, pink eye, urinary tract infections, migraines, rashes, and seasonal allergies. We also handle medication refills, follow-up visits for conditions we already manage, and questions that need a professional answer but not a trip to town.

Chest pain, trouble breathing, a possible broken bone, a deep cut, severe abdominal pain, or any symptom that has you scared belongs in an exam room or an emergency department, not on a video call. If you book a virtual visit and we hear something that concerns us, we will say so and get you in.
What to expect on the call
Scheduling starts with a phone call to (970) 888-0399. We ask a few questions, find a time, and text you a secure link before the appointment. There is nothing to install and no account to set up; the visit opens in your browser on a HIPAA-compliant platform. If you have never done a video visit, plan on it taking about as long as a normal office visit without the waiting room.
Our nurse practitioner runs the visit the way she would in the exam room: what is going on, how long, what you have tried, what else is happening with your health. Good light helps if you need to show a rash or a throat. Prescriptions are sent electronically to the pharmacy you name. Lab or imaging orders go into your chart. If it turns out you need to be seen, we schedule that before you hang up, and the drive from Kersey to Greeley is about 20 minutes.

A video visit takes about the same time as a phone call. You keep your afternoon, your kids stay on the couch, and if you turn out to need more than a screen can offer, we will tell you and get you in.

We use video visits for the things video is good at and the office for everything else. Physicals, vaccines, injuries, lab draws, minor procedures, and any visit where a provider needs to put hands on the problem are done in person at our Greeley clinic, about 20 minutes from Kersey. Can my child have a virtual visit?
Yes. Pediatric video visits are common and useful for fevers, rashes, coughs, and pink eye. A parent holds the phone, shows us what is going on, and we decide together whether the child needs to be seen in person.
Can a nurse practitioner prescribe medication during a virtual visit?
Yes. Our nurse practitioner is licensed to diagnose and prescribe in Colorado. When a prescription is appropriate, it is sent electronically to the pharmacy you choose before the visit ends.
Is a virtual visit a good way to establish primary care from Kersey?
