What we treat on short notice

Most urgent care visits are everyday illnesses that cannot wait a week: strep throat, ear infections, flu and cold symptoms that have gotten worse instead of better, sinus infections, urinary tract infections, pink eye, and migraines. We test for COVID and for sexually transmitted infections in the office, with results handled discreetly. If you have been sick for days and are not turning the corner, that is a reason to call, not a reason to wait.

Minor procedures and injuries

We handle the injuries that fall between a bandage and an emergency room: cuts that need cleaning or stitches, sprains and strains, minor wounds, and skin lesions that need a biopsy. Joint injections and trigger point injections are done in the office for people dealing with knee, shoulder, or muscular pain. We irrigate ears, and we order X-rays when an injury might involve a fracture. What we do not do is emergency medicine. Chest pain, trouble breathing, a serious injury, or a wound that will not stop bleeding belongs in an emergency department, and we will say so if you call.

Why urgent care from a family practice is better

A standalone urgent care treats the problem in front of it and sends you on your way. That is fine until the follow-up: the strep that comes back, the sprain that is still swollen in two weeks, the blood pressure reading that was high while you were sick. At NOCO Healthcare the provider who sees you today is a family medicine nurse practitioner, and the visit goes into a chart she will look at next time. We are not a walk-in clinic in the traditional sense, and pretending otherwise would leave people standing at the door. Because we are privately owned, we set aside a few appointments each day for urgent needs and fill them in the order people call. Call (970) 888-0399 as early as you can. Insurance and self-pay

We accept most major insurance plans, Medicare, and Medicaid. Urgent visits are billed as office visits, which is usually less than an urgent care facility fee. If you are uninsured, ask for the self-pay rate when you call; we will quote it before you drive up.

The rest of the family

LaSalle families use us for more than urgent needs. Children are seen at our pediatric clinic, adults at our family medicine practice, and when the drive is the obstacle, a video visit handles the things that do not need an exam room. Everything sits in one chart with one provider.
