A women’s clinic Fort Collins women drive to on purpose

Fort Collins has more women’s health providers than any city in Northern Colorado, and finding one who will spend real time with you is still the hard part. NOCO Healthcare is a women-owned women’s clinic in Greeley, about 30 minutes from Fort Collins, and a large share of our women’s health patients make that drive rather than settle for a rushed visit closer to home.

The practice was founded and is run by Sheree Montoya, a Family Nurse Practitioner. That is why the appointments are long, why the provider has read your chart before she walks in, and why hormone therapy, pelvic floor treatment, birth control, and your regular primary care can all live in one place instead of four.

This page covers what we provide for Fort Collins women, what a first visit involves, how our hormone and menopause care works, and honest answers to the questions people ask before choosing a women’s clinic, including whether we are an OBGYN. Our main location page is the women’s clinic in Greeley. To skip the reading, call (970) 888-0399.

Primary care physician checking patient in Greeley Colorado

Women’s health services for Fort Collins patients

Everything below happens at our Greeley clinic with the same small team. When something needs a specialist, we say so and make the referral ourselves.

Hormone therapy and menopause care. The most common reason Fort Collins women find us. Lab testing first, then treatment built on the results, including bioidentical hormone therapy. Start with our hormone therapy for Fort Collins page.

Well-woman exams and screening. Annual exams, pap smears, and breast exams on a schedule that matches your age and history. If it has been a few years, that is common and nobody here will scold you for it.

Birth control. Pills, patches, rings, injections, and IUDs, chosen around your health and your plans, with in-office IUD placement. Details on our birth control clinic page.

Pelvic floor therapy and bladder leaks. Leaking with a sneeze, a laugh, or a workout is a muscle problem with a non-surgical treatment. See pelvic floor therapy for Fort Collins and our urinary incontinence page.

Vaginal health. Dryness, discomfort during intimacy, laxity after childbirth, and recurrent UTIs. Our vaginal rejuvenation options include Forma V and V-Tone on the EmpowerRF platform.

Menstrual and cycle problems. Heavy, painful, irregular, or absent periods get a real workup, not a shrug.

Preconception and postpartum care. The visit before you start trying, and the recovery visits after, including the pelvic floor problems the six-week checkup tends to skip. We are not an obstetrics practice; pregnancy care itself is referred, and we coordinate on both ends.

STI testing and treatment. Private, quick, and handled by a provider who already knows your history.

Primary care. Blood pressure, thyroid, cholesterol, anxiety, and the sick visit in February belong in the same chart as your well-woman exam. See primary care for Fort Collins.

Weight and wellness. Medical weight loss for Fort Collins with labs and monitoring, in the same office, from the same provider.

What your first visit looks like

Plan on 30 to 45 minutes. We go through your history, what brought you in, and what you want out of the visit, and we decide together what needs to happen today. That might include an exam, a pap smear, or labs drawn in the office. It might be a conversation and a plan. It will not include being examined for something you did not ask about, or being handed a prescription before anyone has asked how you actually feel.

Bring your insurance card, a photo ID, your current medications, and the date of your last pap smear if you know it. If you are transferring from a Fort Collins practice, we request the records for you. Follow-ups that do not need hands-on care can be done by video, which most of our Fort Collins patients use for hormone check-ins.

You Should Not Have to Explain Yourself Three Times to Get One Answer.

Fort Collins women tell us the same story: a rushed visit inside a big system, a referral across town, a portal message that went unanswered, and a symptom that never got addressed. That is not care, that is a queue. At NOCO Healthcare the person who examines you is the person who calls you back with the results.

A note from Sheree

Sheree Montoya, FNP-C

I opened this practice after years of watching women in Northern Colorado get handed off, talked over, and told that what they were feeling was normal. Some of it was normal. A lot of it was treatable, and nobody had taken the time to find out which.

Fort Collins patients drive past a lot of options to get here, and I take that seriously. It means the appointment has to be worth the trip: real time, a real answer, and a plan you can actually follow. It is also why I invested in hormone care and pelvic floor equipment instead of referring those out and hoping for the best.

If you have been putting off your own care while taking care of everyone else, you are exactly who this clinic was built for. Come in.

Hormone therapy and menopause care for Fort Collins women

More women reach this page looking for hormone help than for any other reason, so it gets its own section. Perimenopause can start in your late thirties. Sleep falls apart, weight moves for no reason, mood and focus change, libido drops, and periods stop making sense. Most women are told this is just aging. It is a hormone shift, and it can be measured and treated.

How it works here. We test first. A hormone panel tells us what is actually low or out of balance, and the plan is built on those numbers rather than on symptoms alone. Treatment may include hormone therapy in several forms, including bioidentical options, with follow-up labs to adjust the dose. Fort Collins patients usually do the first visit in person and the check-ins by video.

Why it matters that this is a women’s clinic. Falling estrogen also thins the tissue supporting the bladder and weakens the pelvic floor, which is why leaks so often start in the same years as hot flashes. Because pelvic floor therapy and hormone care are in the same practice, both get addressed instead of one being missed. If you want the background first, read our guide to hormone therapy.

Why Fort Collins women drive to NOCO Healthcare

The provider chose this work. Sheree built the practice around women’s health. Hormone care, pelvic floor equipment, and a women’s clinic were deliberate investments, not a service line added to fill a schedule.

Appointments have room in them. The symptom you have been sitting on for two years does not fit in a seven minute slot. Here it does.

More than 380 Google reviews, 4.8 star average. They are on our reviews page if you want to read them first.

No surprise bills. We verify your insurance before you come, quote self-pay up front, and offer Cherry payment plans.

The rest of your care is here too. Primary care, urgent visits, and pediatrics for Fort Collins families, from the same office.

A Hormone Problem Does Not Get Better by Waiting for the Right Doctor to Have an Opening.

The women who tell us they wish they had come in sooner are describing the same arc: a symptom they were told was normal, a wait for a specialist, a rushed visit, and a year lost. Every year a hormone shift goes untreated is a year of sleep, energy, and bone density you do not get back.

Women’s health, Fort Collins edition

A few local facts come up in almost every women’s clinic visit from Fort Collins. Mammograms and pelvic ultrasounds are ordered to a nearby imaging center, since there is no X-ray or mammography on site, and we coordinate the results. Prescriptions, including birth control and hormone medications, go to the pharmacy nearest you: King Soopers at Harmony and College, Safeway on East Harmony Road, or the Walgreens stores on South College Avenue.

If cost is the barrier, Larimer County’s health department at 1525 Blue Spruce Dr offers low-cost STI testing and family planning by appointment, Tuesday through Friday. We accept Medicaid, Medicare, and most major plans, so for most women the easier path is one provider who handles the exam, the labs, and the follow-up in one place.

Fort Collins also has about half of tested homes above the EPA radon action level, which is a lung cancer risk that disproportionately gets missed in women who never smoked. Test your home; the city sells $6 kits at the Senior Center. Our women-owned clinic is in Greeley, about 35 minutes from Fort Collins.

NOCO Healthcare treats menopause and perimenopause for Fort Collins women with a hormone panel first and treatment based on the results, which may include hormone therapy. Hot flashes, night sweats, sleep problems, mood changes, weight gain, vaginal dryness, and bladder changes are all addressed rather than dismissed as part of aging.
