Virtual primary care for Milliken, from a family medicine practice

For Milliken residents, a virtual doctor visit with NOCO Healthcare is the shortest possible trip to a family medicine provider. Our clinic is in Greeley, about 20 minutes away, and plenty of Milliken patients drive it for annual physicals and the things that need hands-on care. For a sore throat, a UTI, or a medication question, a secure video visit with our nurse practitioner gets it handled during your lunch break instead.

Same-day and next-day appointments are usually available. Call, and we text you the link.

What a virtual visit can handle

Most of what brings people into a family medicine clinic does not require a hands-on exam. It requires a provider who listens, asks the right questions, and knows what to prescribe. By secure video, our nurse practitioner treats Milliken patients for cold and flu symptoms, sinus infections, strep-type sore throats, ear pain, pink eye, urinary tract infections, migraines, rashes, and seasonal allergies. We also handle medication refills, follow-up visits for conditions we already manage, and questions that need a professional answer but not a trip to town.

Virtual visits work for children too. If your child has a fever, a rash, or a cough and you would rather not bring them out, we can see them on screen first and decide together whether an in-person visit is needed. Our pediatric care is part of the same family practice, so the provider on the call already knows how we treat kids.

Some things need to be seen in person. Chest pain, trouble breathing, a possible broken bone, a deep cut, severe abdominal pain, or any symptom that has you scared belongs in an exam room or an emergency department, not on a video call. If you book a virtual visit and we hear something that concerns us, we will say so and get you in.

Booking a video visit from Milliken

Call (970) 888-0399. That is the whole process. A person answers, asks a few questions, and finds you a time, often the same day. Shortly before your appointment we send a text with a secure link. You do not need to create an account or install anything; the visit opens in your phone’s browser. It is a HIPAA-compliant platform, so the conversation stays between you and your provider.

During the visit, our nurse practitioner works through the same questions she would ask in the office. She may ask you to show her a rash, shine your phone’s flashlight at the back of your throat, or press on your abdomen and describe what you feel. Prescriptions go to your preferred pharmacy electronically. Orders for labs or imaging go into your chart. If you need to come in, we schedule it right then, and the drive from Milliken is about 20 minutes.

My Commute Goes the Wrong Way for a Weekday Visit

If your workday sends you south or west, a Greeley appointment means backtracking or burning vacation time. So the sore throat or the burning when you pee just gets tolerated, and that never helps.

Book a video visit for your lunch hour and join from a parked car or a quiet break room. Our nurse practitioner sorts out the problem and sends any prescription to a pharmacy along your route home.

A note from Sheree

I know how much it takes for a parent or a working person to get to an appointment. If I can save you that drive on the days it is not medically necessary, I will. And on the days it is necessary, I will say so plainly. That is the deal I make with every patient.

When we will ask you to come in

Virtual care is a tool, not a replacement for primary care. Annual physicals, sports physicals, immunizations, DOT physicals, injuries, minor procedures, and anything that needs listening to your lungs or feeling your abdomen still happens in person at our Greeley clinic. Our primary care for Milliken page covers what those visits look like. The drive is about 20 minutes, and we keep same-day and next-day appointments open for people who need them.

The nice part of using one practice for both is that nothing has to be repeated. The provider on your video call is the same one who will see you in the office, with the same chart in front of her.

Coverage and cost

Video visits are covered by Medicaid, Medicare, and most major insurance plans, and we bill them the way we bill an office visit. If you have a high-deductible plan or no insurance, ask for the self-pay rate when you call; we quote it before the appointment, not after. There are no subscription fees and no membership. You pay for the visit you have.

Primary care that fits a Milliken commute

A lot of Milliken commutes head south or west, which makes a weekday office visit hard to schedule. A video visit fits into a lunch break. When you need the office, our Milliken primary care page and our family medicine page explain how appointments work and what we offer in person.

Will My Insurance Cover a Video Visit?

Surprise bills make people hesitate. Not knowing whether a video appointment counts, or what it will cost, is reason enough for many people to put care off.

We bill virtual visits the same way as office visits, and we accept Medicaid, Medicare, and most major plans. Paying yourself? Ask for the self-pay rate when you call, and we will quote it before the appointment. There is no fee to become a patient.

Virtual visit questions from Milliken patients

How do I book a virtual doctor visit from Milliken?

Call NOCO Healthcare at (970) 888-0399 during office hours, Monday through Friday. Tell us you would like a video visit and we will find you a time, often the same day. We text you a secure link shortly before the appointment.

Who will I see on the video call?

The same nurse practitioner who would see you in our Greeley clinic. NOCO Healthcare was founded by Sheree Montoya, FNP-C, and it is a small practice on purpose, so the provider on your screen is the one who knows your chart.

Can my child have a virtual visit?

Yes. Pediatric video visits are common and useful for fevers, rashes, coughs, and pink eye. A parent holds the phone, shows us what is going on, and we decide together whether the child needs to be seen in person.

What conditions can be treated by video?

Colds and flu, sinus infections, sore throats, ear pain, pink eye, urinary tract infections, migraines, rashes, allergies, stomach bugs, medication refills, and follow-ups on conditions we already manage. Anything involving chest pain, breathing trouble, possible fractures, or wounds needs to be seen in person.

Is a virtual visit as good as an office visit?

For the right problem, yes. A sinus infection does not get diagnosed any better in person than on video. For physicals, injuries, vaccines, and anything that needs a hands-on exam, the office is the right place, and we will tell you which is which.

Can a nurse practitioner prescribe medication during a virtual visit?

Yes. Our nurse practitioner is licensed to diagnose and prescribe in Colorado. When a prescription is appropriate, it is sent electronically to the pharmacy you choose before the visit ends.

Can I get a refill through a virtual visit?

Usually, yes. If we already manage the medication, a video visit is an easy way to review how it is working and send a refill. Some controlled medications have rules that require an in-person visit, and we will tell you if that applies.

How far is NOCO Healthcare from Milliken if I need to come in?

Our clinic is at 1130 38th Avenue, Suite A, in Greeley, about 20 minutes from Milliken. If a video visit turns into an in-person visit, we book it before the call ends and hold same-day and next-day appointments for that reason.

What hours are virtual visits available?

Video visits are scheduled during our regular hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. We are not a 24-hour service. If you have an emergency after hours, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

Do I need to download an app for the video visit?

No. The link we text you opens in your phone's browser on a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. You do not need to create an account or remember a password.
